Maximilian Hjorth

Maximilian’s passion for scuba diving was sparked at a young age, growing up around the water and inspired by his father, a PADI Course Director. Born in Sweden and also holding British nationality, he developed a love for exploration early on, diving in Sweden, Scotland, Egypt, Greece, Cyprus and Slovenia. At 18, he travelled to Thailand’s famous diving hub, Koh Tao, where he completed his PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) and became a certified scuba instructor.
Seeking new challenges, Maximilian then embarked on a five-year career as a Royal Marine Commando, operating in some of the world’s most demanding environments. Now based in Sydney, he’s embracing the opportunity to return to his roots in the diving industry, sharing his experience and enthusiasm with others. Whether guiding students through their first breaths underwater or exploring Sydney’s diverse marine life, Maximilian brings a deep passion for the ocean and a wealth of knowledge to every dive.
