Our PADI Adventures in Diving program includes Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep Diver, Boat Diver and Underwater Naturalist. This will significantly improve your skills and increase your diving options. During the in-water training, you will undertake 2 boat dives (Boat Diver & Deep Diver at Magic Point with the sharks) a Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy and an Underwater Naturalist dive. The course starts at 8:00am on the first day but we will finalise the second day depending on sea conditions at the time.
Our genuine PADI Open Water Diver Certification course offers a small class size to maximize your learning, enjoyment, and safety. The scuba diving course involves 10-12 hours of prior study (eLearning) and two days of in-water training. The eLearning must be completed prior to beginning the in-water training.

Normally there are between 20- 80 seals on the island and in the water around the island. The seals are wild animals and as such we cannot guarantee their presence or their interaction with the divers. Arrive at Abyss Dive Centre in Ramsgate no later than 2 hours before the departure time to collecting your gear. Departing from Foreshore road, Port Kembla the boat will adher strictly to the scheduled time, so please do not be late. Get ready for some fun and don't forget your camera. Transport to Port Kembla is not included in this trip and is your responsibility to organize and you are responsible for the collection and return of your rental equipment.
For this dive you must be confident in the water. This site is one of our favourites and is usually conducted as a drift dive with the incoming tide. It is a bit of a clif walk down, you need to be confident in the water. Step off the rocks into the big blue and let your self be taken along the wall, looking for weedy seadragons, rays and Pj’s. Its always good to get to the site early to get set up and then park your car at the exit point. The second dive will be held at The Steps.

This is a Tonkin St departure, just behind Cronulla train station where the Cronulla Ferry Wharf is. The tuggerah sits in 45m of the Royal National Park on Sydney's south. It always has a lot of fish life. You need to be tec certified with a redundant air source for this one. It is NOT DM led. All divers need to be experienced in tec diving.
We will begin with an exciting science discussion about cray weed, and then we'll dive into the water to explore it. Arrive at the shop at 9 am to collect your gear. After that, head to the dive site at Long Bay. You'll meet a crayweed expert and abyss marine biologist Jess, who will chat with you about crayweed. Then, dive in to see how it has spread through Long bay - it's truly amazing how it has taken off! A light lunch will be provided, followed by a second dive.

CRONULLA PICK UP Barrens hutt is located in the Cronulla area in south Sydney a few hundred meters off the royal national park. The top of the reef is in the 12-16m mark, but as you drop over the wall to the 28m mark that is where the site comes alive. There is a lot of beautiful soft sponges at this site and plenty of colour. You will see yellow tail, groupers, nudibranch, weedy sea dragons and cuttlefish. One of the exciting things about this dive site a nice little cave swim though, so bring your torches and camera to get some excellent photos. The boat will depart from Tonkin street Cronulla. Just behind the cronulla train station

This is one of those site for those of you that like to dive deep. A drop to 40m gives those deep divers a chance to utilise their skills. Please be at Abyss Scuba Diving one hour before departure to collect any rental dive gear.
Test your eye site as we head out to spot the ever elusive Weedy Sea dragon. You will get emailed a presentation on the weedy sea dragons to check out before heading out to see them
Possibly one of the most popular dive spots in Sydney, found in the national park, Voodoo is famous for its pumping surf break above the water and its beautiful swim through Arch beneath the water. With schools of fish, giant cuttlefish and eagle rays swimming about, who wouldnt want to dive in this slice of heaven. The Magic Point shark dive is a double boat dive. The boat will Depart at the scheduled time from the Sans Souci public Fishing wharf off Riverside drive. This location is easy to get to by public transport or drive yourself. Please be at Abyss Scuba Diving one hour before departure to collect any rental dive gear.
